Concerts

Berit Strong is available to perform solo concerts or with orchestra for large or small audiences. She has performed as a soloist Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez" with major orchestras to critical acclaim. She has appearead in major music festivals and has recorded for international radio and television. She has also presented community service concerts in the Massachusetts public schools and senior citizen homes. Her warm, sensitive phrasing combined with a virtuoso technique have earned her repeated invitations on the same concert series year after year. Her most popular offering is a program highlighting the Spanish and Flamenco guitar.

Guitar Lessons

Berit Strong offers private, individual instructions on guitar at all levels to students of all ages, from young children to adults. She studied classical guitar for eight years in a conservatory setting and has performed extensively. Her profound knowledge of the instrument can customize a program to fit your needs, your musical plans and your busy schedule. Berit teaches in three Massachusetts locations: Indian Hill Music Center in Littleton, ArtSpace Studio in Maynard, and her private home in Acton. She welcomes your inquiries.

Ms. Strong performed in masterclasses over a ten year period with Oscar Ghiglia, and strives to continue his legacy as a teacher of dynamic interpretations and a holistic, injury-prevention approach towards guitar. Serious students, professionals and guitar teachers have consulted or studied privately with Ms. Strong. Some of her students have won competitions and have been placed in top-notch conservatories. From 1986-1988 she studied in Milan, Italy with musicologist and conservatory professor Ruggero Chiesa, who helped her gain a deeper understanding of technique and musical styles.

Planning a wedding or special function? For the past twenty years Berit Strong has been providing classical guitar music for a wide variety of special events, including weddings, receptions, and birthday parties. She also collaborates with conservatory-trained musicians to offer you the very best in chamber music. The combination of two guitars, flute and guitar, or voice and guitar is always very popular. For a small fee, Ms. Strong is willing to drive to New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Connecticut or Maine for your special event.
